500 Years Act 1 is a top down space combat adventure game. The player takes control of the captain of a ship that is launched the eponymous 500 years after humans have left Earth to establish colonies. The player’s colony was attacked by aliens called Ants and enslaved until recently. The player must fly the ship around the universe in an attempt to find other surviving human colonies and prepare for a possible return of the Ants. Gameplay includes exploration of the universe by moving from system to system, top down space combat, and dialog trees.

Threes Review

Threes is a puzzle game where the player attempts to combine tiles on a four by four grid by sliding tiles with the same number in to each other. As the player swipes up, down, left, or right, all tiles that can move in that direction move in that direction. Each time the player swipes, a tile comes on to the side of the grid opposite the direction of movement. The game ends when the grid is filled.

Broken Age is a point and click adventure game in which the player takes control of two characters, Vella and Shay, and guides them through two separate adventures. Luxuria Superbia is a game in which the player moves through and touches the insides of a three dimensional tunnel shaped like  a flower. Once the player has scored enough points, they can finish the flower by filling it entirely with color, or continue to touch the flower to earn more points and reach a higher rank. The game can be played with other players if the player has an additional controller or is playing on a touch device.

Bastion Review

Bastion is an isometric action RPG in which the player controls a character named the Kid as he progresses through the remnants of a ruined world and attempts to rebuild it. The Kid is able to equip different weapons and abilities that allow him to attack in various ways, like smashing things with a large hammer. Narration by one of the game’s characters accompanies the player’s actions and alters based on what the player chooses to do.

simian.interface Review

simian.interface is a puzzle game where the player is tasked with manipulating the game in order to align various two and three dimensional objects. When the objects are correctly aligned, the player progresses to the next level. Aligning objects requires ascertaining their location and orientation and discovering which direction of manipulation will lead to alignment.
